MR. Curtis J RYDER
Dr. Curtis J Ryder earned hisundergraduate degree at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA andreceived his medical degree from the School of Medicine of the LSU HealthSciences Center at Shreveport, Louisiana in 1979. He completed a Residency inFamily Practice in 1982 at the University of Texas Health Science Center in SanAntonio, TX.
Dr. Ryder became a physicianbecause he liked helping people. He became an entrepreneur because he feltthere was a better way to “treat” them. While practicing family medicine as aboard certified physician he authored an internal text of healthcare managementguidelines and the policy and procedures to implement them.
His practice grew into twelvemedical clinics in the greater San Antonio Metropolitan Area that managedhealthcare for over 30,000 patients To increase the level of service providedto these patients for whom he oversaw health care he began exploring the“supply and demand” of medical services with regard to his clinics’ geographiclocations.
The outcome was the developmentof what is now referred to as the “medical mall.” His vision includedpediatric, family, internal, geriatric and rehabilitation medicine supplementedwith radiology, optometry, audiology, podiatry and in house pharmacies.
